Having worked with leading housing developers over the years, MACGCG have seen the changing requirements to today’s very high standard of site presentation, appearance of work and Health and Safety requirements.
We recognise that all these things are required and must be delivered to the highest standard, hopefully leading to NHBC Pride in The Job Awards.
MACGCG have been involved with two projects that received Top 100 Awards, and we have worked on huge projects with 1,500 new homes right down to bespoke 6-unit developments.
We can offer housing developers and consortiums comprehensive infrastructure project management and inspections.
Our team has dealt with all Highway Works S38 and S278 Schemes and Drainage Schemes S104 and S106 from the planning stages right through to adoption. We can also assist with streetworks, road space and highway applications.
Our team have seen lots of money wasted due to bad planning, bad workmanship and bad attitudes! We have found that implementing simple processes can change the way a situation is viewed and positively affect the project outcome.
For example, using twice the allocated amount of concrete and 6F5 when laying kerbs results in the likelihood of more muck away not allowed for, resulting in 3 losses no gains. This example is one of many of how our commercial consultancy can aid your business.
We have over 12 years of experience working on RC projects in the role of project manager/site engineer. Our projects have included:
✓ Double Underground Carparks
✓ Dewatering Schemes
✓ RC Bridges
✓ Multi Storey Frames
✓ Ground Beams
✓ Pile Caps/Piling – CFA – Contiguous – Driven and Sheet Piles
✓ RC Column Design including a pair of racking tapering elliptical columns at UCL In London
We have great understanding of this type of work with many years of practical experience. Whilst MACGCG do not undertake this work ourselves, we are very well connected within this specialised area and can put you in contact with the right organisation to suit your requirements.
Below are examples of areas of improvement:
✓ Review plant and labour resources and assess against current progress.
✓ Material procurement working with programme requirements to help with end of month cashflow.
✓ Review inappropriate/excessive waste of materials.
✓ Making site managers more commercially aware of their decisions.
✓ Making essential Saturday work more cost effective and productive.
✓ Road sweeping cost against structured traffic management plans, correct deployment of plant.
✓ Introduce simple quality assurance procedures that are quick and easy to complete. To prevent costly remedial works and embarrassment with the client, resulting with misplacement of productive resources.
✓ Site manager’s organisational skills.
✓ Provide simple programmes to help achieve CML dates.
✓ Reviewing site Health and Safety, RAMS and certification.
✓ Drawing registers up to date.
✓ Ensuring the correct material specification is being used.
✓ Foundation mix design approvals.
✓ Housing developer clerk of works stage inspection reports.
Paperwork on its own is not a good performance measure. In our experience, visual observations having pro-active monitoring rather than reactive responding will always be more cost effective and efficient.
